As long as violence against children persists, children rights are violated. Addressing violence against children calls for a multifaceted response by all stakeholders. The children rights program aims at ensuring that children enjoy their fundamental rights and achieve their full potential irrespective of their background. The Children Rights program is centered on five pillars:

Legal Aid

• Advancing access to justice to children by providing free legal advice and representation especially to disadvantaged and marginalized children who have unmet needs in the juvenile justice systems.
• Promoting crime prevention to improve the effectiveness of the justice system in the rehabilitation and restoration of young offenders.
• Conducting quarterly mobile legal clinics around the country.

Advocacy and Community Education

• Raising issues of concern through public awareness campaigns.
• Sensitizing and educating the communities on children’s rights.

Policy Advocacy

• Promoting public policies and systemic reforms that seek to address the full spectrum of risk factors in the lives of all children and their families.

Legislative advocacy

• Engaging in child Justice Reform Initiatives, both at local, national and regional platforms.

Research and Writing

• Conducting research on legal issues on the rights of children.
• Providing data on important legal issues affecting the rights of abused children
• Documenting protection interventions so as to improve the effectiveness of policies and programs.
• Generating knowledge products on sexual and gender based violence prevention.
• Contribute to amicus briefs
