Children Rights Program

Every day, children in Africa are subjected to violence in its many forms, these include: sexual violence, sex trafficking, commercial sexual exploitation, child labour, domestic violence, and harmful traditional practices. A 2012 survey indicates that violence against children is a serious problem in Kenya with at least one in three girls experiencing sexual violence before the age of 18.

As long as violence against children persists, children rights are violated. Addressing violence against children calls for a multifaceted response by all stakeholders. The children rights program aims at ensuring that children enjoy their fundamental rights and achieve their full potential irrespective of their background. The Children Rights program is centered on five pillars:

Legal Aid

Advocacy and Community Education

Policy Advocacy

Legislative advocacy

Research and Writing
